Cooper&Wright reads code and errors so it can fix them. This page says what it reads, what it keeps, who else sees it and how to make it stop. We do not sell any of it. Last updated 15 October 2026.
What it reads
- From GitHub, when you sign in: your GitHub id, username and email address.
- From Sentry, for the projects you map: the organization and project list, and each new issue with its latest event and stack trace.
- From GitHub, for the repositories you connect: the files a fix needs, read through read-only tools, and the checks and job logs of the pull requests it works on.
Every permission and the reason for it is listed in the documentation.
What it writes
Commits to its own pull request branch, or to the branch of a pull request you asked it to watch, and the pull requests themselves. It merges only where you turned merging on. In Sentry it writes one thing: an issue's resolved status.
What it keeps
- Your account: the GitHub id, username and email above.
- Each incident: the Sentry error, its stack trace and the fix it generated.
- Each pull request it watches: its status, the reason a round stopped, and the activity on it.
- Lessons: when a person fixes something Cooper could not, a short excerpt of both fixes and the rule learned from them.
- Your Sentry connection's token and your subscription's state. Your repositories are not copied wholesale and kept.
Who else sees it
- Anthropic: the code and error a fix is written from are sent to Anthropic's API, which writes the fix.
- Render hosts the application and its database.
- Cloudflare sits in front of the website.
- Stripe takes payments; we never see a card number.
- Mailgun sends the email Cooper&Wright sends you.
- Sentry receives Cooper&Wright's own errors.
- Umami counts page views and clicks on the website. HeyCatch records how the product is used, against your account's public id, never your email address.
How to make it stop
Uninstall the GitHub App or the Sentry integration and that access ends at once; the documentation says what each removal stops. To have your account and what it holds deleted, write to [email protected].
